James “Jim” R. Barred age 76 of Twin Lakes, WI died June 7, 2019. He was born the youngest of seven, to Henry and Irene Barred in Chicago, IL on September 26, 1942. He attended and graduated from Steinmetz High School in Chicago in 1960. Right around that time, he met Della Marie Polito through a friend at the local roller rink and it was love at first sight. On January 4, 1964 in Chicago, IL they were united in marriage. Jim and Della were blessed with two sons, Brian and Kevin, whom they adored.
Jim served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon discharge from the Army, he started working for UPS and loyally worked there until his retirement. Della and Jim retired to Twin Lakes Wisconsin to enjoy fishing, boating and the good life.
In Jim’s spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his wife and sons, shooting pool with his friends and bowling on a co-ed league with his wife, Della. It was usually Jim who was the life of the party and filled the air with fun and laughter by either telling stories, jokes (“wanna hear a good one?!”) or singing songs. The extended Barred family enjoyed camping and Jim had many fond memories of these family adventures at destinations such as at Governor Dodge and Blue Mound State Parks.
Jim is survived by his two sons, Brian (Nica) Barred and Kevin (Becky) Barred, his four grandsons: Brandon, Jason, Anthony and Wyatt, and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Della, and his siblings.
