James "Jim" Edward Meisel

James Edward Meisel, 80 of Elkhorn, WI, was welcomed into heaven by his Lord and Savior Jesus on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center.  He was born March 22, 1939 in Lakin, KS, the son to the late Walter and Louise (Blackett) Meisel. Jim was a member of Millard Community Covenant Church where he served faithfully and was known for his love and compassion for those fortunate to have known him.  He graduated from Lakin Area High School in Lakin, KS.  He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1965 as a Navy Corpsman. Jim worked for Standard Oil of California, Meisel AG Air of Lakin, KS, Getzen Company of Elkhorn, WI, Road Master Bicycle of Delavan, WI, and Trek Bicycle of Whitewater, WI.  Jim loved to go fishing, playing golf and going to football and basketball games.  He faithfully supported his niece, Samantha in soccer and basketball and his other nephews and nieces in their sports.  Jim was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks, Milwaukee Brewers, UW-Badgers and UW-Whitewater sport teams.  Jim will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Kim (Dennis) Meisel of Waunakee, WI, and Amanda (Andrew) Noehl of Darien, WI, four grandchildren; Daniel Meisel, Krystal Diehl, Laken Nettesheim and Connor Noehl, great-grandson, Quenten, his sister, Marilyn (John) Notestine of Elizabethtown, KY, as well as many caring nieces and nephews all whom he loved very much.  Jim was welcomed into heaven by many of his family, including his four brothers; Bill, Richard, Buddy and John, sister, Janet, grandson, Adam and dear friends.

Memorial service with military honors will be 11:00AM on Thursday September 19, 2019 at Millard Community Covenant Church, N6713 County Rd O Elkhorn, WI. Visitation will be 10:00AM until service time Thursday at church. Inurnment will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery Union Grove, WI.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Millard Community Covenant Church.
