Nancy Elene Samuel

Nancy E. Samuel, age 85, of Twin Lakes, WI, died on Monday, August 12, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.

The former Nancy Elene Nielsen was born April 8, 1934 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Richard and Marne Sorenson Nielsen.  On April 22, 1953 in Chicago, IL, Nancy was united in marriage to Kenneth N. Samuel.  Kenneth preceded her in death on July 24, 2011.  They lived in River Forest, IL before moving to Twin Lakes in 1971.

Nancy formerly was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in River Forest.  She formerly owned and operated the Humpty Dumpty Day Care in Twin Lakes for many years and touched the lives of many children. 

Nancy enjoyed horseback riding, kayaking, snowmobiling, camping at Holiday Shores in the Wisconsin Dells and enjoying her cabin in Manitowish Waters, WI.  Her greatest enjoyment was her family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was a member of the Twin Lakes Chamber and Business Assoc. and received an award from the Women’s Business Assoc.

Nancy is survived by her children; Dawn (Tom) Eppers of Twin Lakes, WI, Jill (Matt) Rittorno of Simi Valley, CA and Kenneth (Tami Nigro Gandt) Samuel of Twin Lakes, WI; daughter in law, Lynn Samuel; 9 grandchildren, Tommy, Ashley, Amanda, Abigail, Alyssa, Tia, Gianna, Alex and Megan; 8 great grandchildren, Tyler, Elliotte, Raylan, Austin, Aubrey, Parker, Chet and Scout.

Nancy was preceded in death by 2 grandsons, Kenneth Samuel III and Richard Samuel; 3 sisters, Magdelina, Nellie and Analisa.

Private Family Services will be held.  Memorial Remembrances in Nancy’s name may be made to the Village of Twin Lakes K9 Fund, %Twin Lakes Police Dept., 920 Lance Dr. Twin Lakes, WI 53181.  The Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Samuel Family.
