Susan Mae Johnson, 67, of Palmyra, WI died Monday May 27, 2019 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital Waukesha, WI. Susan was born September 3, 1951 in Elkhorn, WI the daughter of the late Orville L. and Mary Ann (Lackas) Bromeland. She graduated from Elkhorn Area High School with the Class of 1969. She was united in marriage to Emil “ Joe” G. Johnson Jr at Bethel United Methodist Church Elkhorn, WI on June 13, 1970. Susan worked as a waitress for over 20 years at Novak’s Family Restaurant of Whitewater, WI. She retired in 2010 due to failing health. Susan enjoyed baking, canning, fishing and bowling. She liked her trips to DeJope and Ho-Chunk for her gambling fix. She was known as the family reunion coordinator, she loved to have family picnics. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. Susan was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by her husband of 48 years, Joe, her two sons: Richard (Jannet) Johnson of Palmyra, WI and Ryan (Melissa) Johnson of Eagle, WI, her four grandchildren: Jenna, Alex, Jillian and Andie Johnson and by her six siblings: Michael (Diana) Bromeland of Walworth, WI, Thomas Bromeland of Gay Mills, WI, Patrick (Debbie) Bromeland of Lake Geneva, WI, Mary (William) Lehner of Elkhorn, WI, Edward Bromeland of Delavan, WI and Jayne (Ron) Hagen of Elkhorn, WI and by a host of other relatives and friends. Susan was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Daniel Bromeland. Visitation will be 12:00 PM (Noon) to 3:00 PM Sunday June 2, 2019 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home 730 N. Wisconsin Street Elkhorn, WI followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM officiated by Rev. Dr. Scott McLeod. Private family burial will be at White Oak – LaFayette Cemetery.
