Carol A. Steenstry, 79 of Elkhorn, WI, was born into eternal life on Saturday November 19, 2022 at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, WI surrounded by her family. She was born January 10, 1943 in Dayton, OH to Cecil and Ruth (Fischer) Williams. While serving in the United States Navy as a dental technician, Carol was united in marriage to the love of her life, Larry E. Steenstry on December 15, 1962 in Bay Minette, Alabama, just 13 weeks after meeting. Carol’s love for Jesus and her faith were obvious to all who knew her. She was an active member of both St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elkhorn, WI and St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Fontana, WI throughout her life. She was a lifelong servant and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and kniting, including prayer shawls and hats for preemies and babies. Carol along with her dear friend, Kathy Wedige, founded the Pregnancy Helpline in Elkhorn, and volunteered there as a counselor for 20 years, now known as New Day Women’s Clinic, which has remained pro-life. Carol was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 60 years, Larry Steenstry, her two children: Maria (Daniel) Girard of Maplewood, MN and Brian (Pamela) Steenstry of Rochester, WI, and her four grandchildren: Benjamin Steenstry, Joseph Girard, Jennifer Girard, and John “Jack” Girard. She was preceded in death by her son, Jacob Steenstry, her parents, and her stepmother, Edith Williams. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 29th from 9:30AM to 11:00AM at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory, 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 107 W. Walworth St. Elkhorn, WI, with Father Oriol officiating. There will be a luncheon at St Patrick’s Church following the services for all attending. Interment with Military Honors for family only will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Elkhorn, WI.
