Dorothy Ellen (Moynihan) Bogdanski

Dorothy Bogdanski, 87 formerly of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 at The View at Pine Ridge in Oconomowoc, WI where she became an integral part of the community by living out her faith with a warm greeting and smile to everyone she met.  Dorothy was the daughter of the late Leonard T. and Grace C. (Flaherty) Moynihan.  She was united in marriage to John M. Bogdanski on July 11, 1959 in Lafayette, Indiana. Dorothy worked in customer service with Sears Central Credit for over 15 years.  She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Elkhorn involved with the Ladies Guild.  She was very much involved with Pro-Life and active with the Pregnancy Crisis Helpline.  Dorothy was an Avon representative for many years.

Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Patricia (Suey) Wong of Brookfield, WI, Nancy (William) Backhaus of Oconomowoc, WI, Steven Bogdanski of West Allis, WI and Thomas Bogdanski of Mukwonago, WI; 10 grandchildren Jennifer (Nicholas) Brunet, Joshua (Justine) Backhaus, Jacob (Kayla) Backhaus, Jonathan Backhaus, Nicholas Wong, Grace Backhaus, Benjamin Wong, Josiah Backhaus, Leah Wong and Mikayla Backhaus; great-grandchildren David, Elijah, Zoey, Amelia, Chloe, Oliver and Jack. She is further survived by her sister Rosamond McCool of LaFayette IN and by Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 60 years, John Bogdanski, son Christopher Bogdanski, grandson Micah Wong, two sisters, Marilyn Moynihan and Cathryn Martinez, and her brother Michael Moynihan.

Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy will be held 11:30 AM on Wednesday December 1, 2021at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 107 W. Walworth St. Elkhorn, WI 53121. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at 1:30 PM at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Milwaukee, WI.
