Earlene M. Olsen, 83 of Elkhorn, WI, died Friday, April 2, 2021 at Holton Manor Nursing Home in Elkhorn, WI. She was born January 4, 1938 in Elkhorn, WI, the daughter to the late Earl and Barbara (Garrett) Carmin. She was united in marriage to Donald E. Olsen on July 19, 1961 in Belvidere, IL. Earlene enjoyed playing Bingo, traveling and was an avid doll collector. One of her favorite trips was to Germany for a Doll Manufacturing Tour. Earlene was very artistic and loved to oil paint, pencil drawings and quilting. She had a deep faith. Throughout the years, Earlene owned and operated many stores Kozy Korner Restaurant in Fontana, an Antique Store in Delavan and Wisconsin Dells, Earlene’s Doll House in Delavan, a quilt store and the Quilting Connection in Elkhorn, WI. Earlene was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.
Earlene is survived by her four children; Michael (Kim) Olsen, WI, Susan (Al) Schmieden, Edward (Sherryl Ashby) Olsen, Howard (Susan) Graves, fifteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and three sisters; Barbara (Tom) Hull, Marion Aag and Judy (George) Wilson, sister-in-law Joanne Carmin and dear friend, Karen Jacobson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Donald, infant daughter, Angela Joy and son, Jonathan Graves, her sister: Yvonne “Bonnie” (Bob) Neault, three brothers: Earl (Kitty), Robert and Eugene (Cathy) Carmin and her dear friend, Jackie Yanke.
A private family service will be Tuesday, April 6, 2020. Burial will be at Hazel Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Earlene’s name to: Holton Manor, 645 N Church St., Elkhorn, WI 53121 or to Walworth County Food Pantry, 205 E. Commerce Court Elkhorn, WI 53121.
