Fred J. Stopple

Fred J. Stopple, 86 of Elkhorn, WI, died Sunday, September 11, 2022 at his home. He was born February 11, 1936 in Elkhorn, WI, the son of the late Fred I. and Florence (Carlson) Stopple.  Fred graduated with the Class of 1954 from Elkhorn High School and from University of Wisconsin- Madison in 1958. Fred was a proud UW-Madison Alumni.  He served in the United States Air Force Reserves.  Fred was united in marriage to Eunice M. Stradtman on October 2, 1965 in Burlington, WI.  He was member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Delavan, WI.  Fred loved to collect model airplanes and radio-controlled airplanes.  He was an avid dog lover.

Fred is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Eunice, their four daughters: Rebecca (Greg) Johnson of Delavan, WI, Jennifer (Craig) Stevens of Marengo, WI, Marlys (Dennis) Truckenbrod of Darien, WI and Sarah Stopple of Elkhorn, WI, five grandchildren: Christopher Matthews, Amy (Daniel) Kilkenny, Neil Truckenbrod, Dana Truckenbrod and Nathan Johnson, sister-in-law, Janet Hetzel, many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Kenneth Stopple and sister, Shirley Stopple.

A Celebration of Fred’s Life will be held 2:00PM on Friday, September 16, 2022 at the Monte Carlo Room, 720 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI.  Visitation will be 12:00PM until service time Friday at the Monte Carlo Room. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Fred’s name may be directed to Mercy Hospice, 901 Mineral Point Ave. Janesville, WI.  Online guest book at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
