James Kirwan Obituary

James Edward Kirwan, age 76 of Trevor, WI, died Friday, February 26, 2021. Son of the late William and Ruth (Roberts) Kirwan, Jim was born on December 17, 1944 in Kentucky. He served active duty in the United States Navy for four years on the USS Ranger as an aircraft mechanic. Later he proudly served in the United States Army Reserves as a staff sergeant and worked as a cook. Jim enjoyed cooking throughout his life and was known for his inventive meals that were always different, because he never followed a recipe or wrote anything down. James was united in marriage with Sandra Irene Nichols on September 28, 1974 at Wilmot United Methodist Church. He and Sandra raised four sons, and Jim loved coaching baseball. He threw great 4th of July parties when the kids were growing up, and in his younger years enjoyed fishing, boating, and trapshooting. Jim had a great sense of humor, and always had a smile on his face and a joke to tell.

Jim is survived by his sons James Kirwan Jr., Keith (Shannon) Kirwan, Mark Keaty, and Brent Keaty; his grandchildren Alex, Christopher, Kyla, Abbigal, and Lilyan Kirwan; his great-grandchildren Abel and Rowan Kirwan; his nephew Andrew Martin; and niece Sarah Martin. Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 36 years, Sandra Kirwan; and his sister Evelyn Martin.
