Lon Wienke Obituary

Lon Richard Wienke, age 65 of Twin Lakes, WI, died Wednesday March 3, 2021. Son of Donald and Beverly (Frank) Wienke, Lon was born in Burlington, WI on May 17, 1955. On September 12, 1981, Lon was united in marriage with Kristine Rosenhauer at Messiah Lutheran Church in Twin Lakes. Lon worked as a real estate agent for over 35 years, and in June of 2020 he realized one of his dreams by becoming an owner of New Era Realty. Lon was heavily involved in his community and acted as Kenosha County Board Supervisor of District 23, Kenosha County Fair Board Director from 1985-2019 and past manager, Lakes Area Soccer League Board member, Lakes Area Realtor’s Association member, Committee of the Whole Chairman, and Wisconsin State Fair Association Committee member. He worked hard for everything he had, and those who knew him could say, “if it was to be done, Lon got it done.” He was always there to help others and give advice. In his free time, Lon liked golfing, playing poker, going to baseball games, bowling, and playing bags and urban horseshoes. Above all else, Lon was a family man who loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren.

Lon is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 40 years, Kris Wienke; children Ami (Thomas) Buck, Jason (Carly) Wienke, Krystal (Rick) Geiss, and Ken (Christine) Wienke; grandchildren Zoe, Kendall, and Spencer Buck, Hunter and Cody Wienke, and Max and Dylan Cornellier; parents Don and Beverly; brothers Brian (Cathy) Wienke and Lane (Michele) Wienke; sister Stacy (Bill) Terhune; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; honorary children Mike (Stephanie) VanDenBosch, Karla (Cody) Straukas, Carolyn Brown, and Joseph Brown; honorary grandchildren Oscar VanDenBosch, and Sarah, Leah, and Anna Straukas; honorary sister Terry Fudge; best friend Ron (Sue) Wendricks; and grand-dog Charley.

Lon was preceded in death by his grandparents Marcus and Pearl Wienke and Hermann and Vera Frank; Mother- and father-in-law Kenneth and Patricia Rosenhauer; Aunt Bernice Rubach; nephew Marcus Wienke; and Bob Davison, father of Christine Wienke.
