Ronald Wilson Obituary

Ronald Arthur Wilson, age 66, died on January 9, 2022 in Eau Claire, WI after a long fought battle with cancer.  Ron’s life began in Elkhorn, WI. He was born on November 14, 1955 to Ronald “Bucky” and Sylvia Wilson. As a child he enjoyed baseball, go-karts, dirt bikes, and innocent mischief with neighborhood friends. Ron graduated from Elkhorn High School in 1974.

He held many job titles through his life: machinist, chimney sweep, plumber, and, lastly, in technical support. True to his Wilson lineage, Ron was a hard worker and dedicated employee. Through the years and employments, Ron made many lasting friendships.

He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) for many years and recently received his coin for twenty years of sobriety. Beyond his own struggles and accomplishments, he sponsored and helped many over the years.

Ron loved the lord. He was a devout member of Our Redeemer Church of Delavan where he frequented services with his mother and family.

Ron was an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent many hours in the woods, on shore or on the ice, and frequently spoke of all the great memories shared with family and friends. He also enjoyed gun shows, the Elkhorn flea market, and was never one to turn down a rummage sale.

With disease progression, Ron moved to Eau Claire to be closer to his son Justin and family. This afforded him the opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren Sully and Selma.

He was a loving father and mentor. He was a diligent caretaker and son. He was a caring brother to brother Brad and sister Julie, and jovial uncle to Sarah Jane. He was a kind and loving grandfather. And he was a true patriarch to the immediate family. Ron was a great friend to many and is mostly remembered for his big heart, comedic approach, and ability to always stir a laugh.

Ron is survived by his son Justin (Allison) Wilson, of Eau Claire, WI; his daughter Erika (Matt) Bursavich of Needham, MA; his brother Brad Wilson of Delavan, WI; his sister Julie Wilson of Beloit, WI; his niece Sarah Jane Carlson of Beloit, WI; his grandchildren Sully and Selma Wilson of Eau Claire, WI, as well as Oliver and Theo Bursavich of Needham, MA.
