Sheila Docherty Obituary

Sheila Young Docherty, 89 of Delavan, WI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Ridgestone Village in Delavan, WI. She was born June 21, 1930 in Chicago, IL, the daughter to the late John “Jock” and Jeanie (Thomson) Young. Sheila graduated from Parker High School & then began her working career as a secretary at Alex T Franz Advertising, later working at Wilmette School District 39 until retiring. Sheila was an avid skier throughout her life. She cherished her Scottish roots and enjoyed the Scottish dance lessons where she met her ex-husband, Ed Docherty. Sheila was a loving daughter, sister and aunt.

Sheila will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews; Ed (Nancy) Snyder, Sandy (Joe) Sanders, Bill (Charlotte) Snyder, Bob Snyder, Nancy Snyder, Richard (Christine) Snyder, Scott (Sara) Young and Zina (Lori) Starr, many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Sheila was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Mary (Edwin) Snyder, John (Marion) Young and Alex Young.
